Messages from Our Leaders
Insights and guidance from those leading St. Joseph's Hospital's mission of compassionate care.

Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ
βIt gives me immense joy to congratulate St. Joseph's Hospital and Nursing College, Mysore on its remarkable journey of faith, vision, and dedicated service. What we witness today is the fruition of a long-cherished dream of the late Most Rev. Mathias Fernandes, whose vision was given a firm foundation by Most Rev. Roy in 2008. The institution was subsequently inaugurated by Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly, whose encouragement helped shape this noble endeavour into a centre of excellence. Today, St. Joseph's Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and healing, while the Nursing College has earned a well-deserved reputation for forming competent, compassionate, and professionally committed healthcare personnel. Guided by its inspiring motto, 'Compassionate Care & Committed Service,' the institution has truly become a hospital with a difference, where professional excellence is harmoniously united with Christian values, respect for human dignity, and loving concern for every patient. I express my heartfelt appreciation to the Management, the Medical and Nursing Staff, the Faculty, the Students, the Sisters, and all the collaborators whose selfless dedication has made this institution a blessing to countless families. May St. Joseph, the patron of the institution, continue to intercede for you, and may the Lord abundantly bless your mission of healing, education, and compassionate service for many generations to come. + Francis Serrao SJ Bishop of Mysoreβ

βDear Friends,Welcome to St. Joseph's Hospital - a place of Compassionate Care. At St. Joseph's Hospital, we believe that every patient is not merely a case to be treated but a person to be loved, respected, and cared for with dignity. Inspired by the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, we strive to bring hope where there is fear, comfort where there is pain, and compassion where there is suffering. As the Gospel reminds us, 'He went about doing good and healing all' (Acts 10:38). Every smile, every act of service, and every healing touch becomes a reflection of Christ's love. Guided by the spirit of St. Joseph, our patron and protector, we are committed to serving all without discrimination. Pope Leo XIV reminds us: 'Let us go to Jesus, our hope! He can heal us; He can make us new.' May this message inspire us to see healthcare not only as a profession but as a sacred ministry. Together, let us build a hospital where faith strengthens service, love heals wounds, and every life is cherished as a precious gift from God. Welcome to St. Joseph's Hospitalβwhere healing hands are guided by compassionate hearts and God's abiding presence.β
